A few weeks ago I begin spending a couple of hours every weekend on a small project for my friend Kerim, the owner of My Wedding Blooms, a boutique wedding floral provider. Every wedding season, Kerim builds one sample centerpiece for each of his clients so that they can see, feel and even smell the centerpieces that will eventually be used at their wedding. This gives brides and grooms a great opportunity to change anything they don’t like or even add more of things they do. Just in the several hours total that I spent at these sample days, I saw how beneficial it was for a couple to see their actual centerpiece before their wedding day. A couple of them even changed the look of their piece altogether by the time they left! It’s nice that Kerim’s clients are able to look to the rest of his work for inspiration.

But, I digress. The reason I was there was to photograph all of the sample centerpieces so that I could put an album together for Kerim to show potential clients. Now, future brides and grooms will have a ton of inspiration in one little book and Kerim will be able to show off all of his masterpieces quickly and easily!

I don’t know a whole lot about flowers but I do know that the pieces Kerim and his staff create are amazing. From the simple and elegant to the extravagant and divine, I saw it all over the course of my time there. Here are is just a very small sampling of my favorites:

As a wedding photographer I consider it part of my job to stay up-to-date with wedding trends. Because of this I spend quite a bit of time looking at the same resources that brides and grooms use when planning their weddings. This was one of the funnest parts for me when I was planning my own wedding, so I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am that my job is such that I’m still allowed to do this type of thing!

The other day I came across a wedding resource site that I hadn’t seen before. Elizabeth Anne Designs is a blog, vendor directory and online community that covers just about every aspect of a wedding you can think of. They even have a “Living” section that just showcases fabulous everyday finds that have nothing to do with weddings. This is important because it is so easy to get wedding burnout when you’re in planning mode!

Yesterday Ami & Rebekah over at EAD asked me if they could use one of my photos in one of their “wedding details” features and of course I happily allowed them. When I went to visit their blog today, there was my image from Anna and Lönngren‘s wedding staring back at me. Fun!

Here’s a screenshot from their site, but do yourself a favor and go spend some time over there, especially if you’re planning a wedding!
