Tag Archives: dog Duke is the beloved dog of my very close friend, Alicia. Last week Duke was diagnosed with cancer and Alicia is (naturally) devastated. When she told me, I did my best to console her, as friends do in these situations. I felt terrible because I knew just how much Alicia loves this dog. She talks about him a lot and is constantly taking pictures of him with her crappy camera phone and showing them to me. This dog is adored.  This is Murphy. He’s a Boston Terrier who belongs to my friends Scott and Alisha. He’s rambunctious, as Boston Terrier’s typically are, but that only made him interesting to photograph. He’s got a new baby sister named Olive. I can’t wait to meet her.  Last April I had plans to visit Olvera Street with my pals Karl and Alicia. Our original plan was to see an exhibit of tortilla art—a local painter uses large flour tortillas as his canvas and his work was on display.
