Ashley + Steve = Married!

I’ve been looking forward to Ashley and Steve’s wedding ever since we had a fun time exploring Disneyland for their engagement session. Because they are awesome, Ashley and Steve returned to the Happiest Place on Earth for their wedding and because of this their entire day had an extra heaping of magic to it. That’s just how Disney rolls.

These two were married on a Monday. I’m pretty sure it’s the first Monday wedding I’ve been to! It was a special Monday, as it was exactly 8 years ago on that day that Ashley and Steve became boyfriend and girlfriend when they were still in high school. How awesome to get to keep their original anniversary date  and celebrate it as their wedding anniversary for the rest of their lives. See what I mean? Magical.

Ashley and Steve, it has been such an honor sharing in this part of your love story. I’m so glad you two recognized that you found the love of your lives, and that I got to witness the moment you made it official forever. Congratulations! Here are just a few of my favorites from the day…

I was IN LOVE with Ashley’s dress. The pleating detail added so much interest while still keeping the silhouette of the dress classic. So, so lovely. And will you check out that awesome headboard at the Disneyland Hotel?!

I’ve been obsessed with hair curls recently and Ashley’s curls were kinda amazing.

Ashley’s mom, Fran, served as more than Mother of the Bride that day. She was also Ashley’s makeup artist and her Maid of Honor. It was obvious that she is Ashley’s best friend and that is so incredibly awesome.

Ashely and Steve opted to do a First Look, which meant we were never rushed and they got extra alone time together before their guests arrived. I do love myself a First Look.

A couple of days before the wedding Ashley emailed me to tell me there would be confetti wands at the ceremony so that guests could throw confetti as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife. She really wanted to make sure we got a photo of it and I assured her I would be ready, we just needed to hope the guests did their part and threw the confetti. Um…yeah, obviously I didn’t need to worry about that. This next series of images makes me smile so much!

For me, one of the funnest elements of this wedding was the special place cards that Ashely and Steve had made for their guests: Mickey ears with their name embroidered on them! So cool! And, they were even kind enough to get one for me and my second shooter, Jen, so obviously we rocked the ears all night long as we worked. So great! I also loved the way each table was named after a ride in the park and labeled using prints of vintage Disney signs. Perfect.undefinedundefinedundefined

And it’s not every day you witness the Mother-Son and Father-Daughter dances happen with the parents wearing Mickey ears. Such a fun day!
