Katie + Steve = Engaged!

It always makes me incredibly happy when my clients choose a special-to-them place for their engagement session. I feel like I get a peek into the couple’s relationship as they tell me about the spot and what role it played in their story. When I spent the afternoon with Katie and Steve, they took me to not one, but two special-to-them locations. We drove together and to these spots and I got to hear tons of cute stories about how they met, what it’s like to live so far apart (she lives here, Steve is in the Navy, stationed in Las Vegas), and all about the amazing potatoes served at their favorite breakfast spot in Oxnard, also known as our first destination.

Katie and Steve immediately chose this tiny little beachside restaurant for their engagement session because it’s one of their favorite places that they frequent together. Back when they first met, Steve was stationed at nearby Port Hueneme and his Navy buddies introduced him to the spot. They’ve been hooked ever since. The restaurant owners were kind enough to let us shoot there. And I got a bite of the infamous potatoes. They were amazing.
